There are so many different explanations. The most famous one is that the Mayans had this calendar a biazzilion years ago that ended in 2012. So we thought that something bad is gonna happen in 2012. (personally i think they just got tired of writing the calendar. The other reason is some scientist think that a meteor will come close to earth in 2012. Its a bunch of bull.

We have tornados, floods, and fires here in Kentucky. I wonder, could some of the toothless wonders around here also be classified as a natural disaster? If so, we got those too.

You can approximate better than most people who make no effort. The value of truth is that it lets you assign probabilities to the location of obstacles and to the effect of conflict with them. It's not that reliable for predicting the future, but works better than pure hope.

Animals are indeed more sensitive to things like say, pressure changes- indicating that a storm may be on the rise. I know that dogs can feel this because they squirm and whimper when it happens
