Well, I'm not sure anyone is going to listen to what I have to answer, since I've already been judged as having no self-respect, but here goes.
The verses in Timothy which you quoted were addressed not to all churches at all times, but to a particular church which was having a great deal of trouble with the behavior of women and some false teachings that some were spreading and Paul was saying, "Tell those women to be quiet and stop causing trouble." This was not a matter of gender but a matter of church doctrinal teachings.
And yes, the Bible does say that Eve was deceived. But I can also quote the accompanying verses that say that Adam brought sin into the world because while Eve was tricked, he was intentionally disobedient and rebellious. The whole point of Christology is that as "the first Adam sinned" so the "second Adam" who was Jesus brought redemption. I hesitate to to do a big cut and paste scripture job, but if you want them, I'll go find them for you.
Verse 15 is referring to the behavior of women who were newly brought into Christianity. Remember, this was a very new way of thinking and living at the time and the idea of a woman being the foundation of a strong family unit was alien to many of the new believers. These verses are shaping the culture of Christian families.
I will be the first to say that men (and some women) in the church have used these verses while ignoring the universal teachings in verses such as "in Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek, male nor female, slave or free." But that's not the fault of the religion, but of a portion of its leaders.
As for self respect, I don't let anyone make me feel inferior as a child of God. I know my value in God's eyes and frankly, anyone who tries to tell me I'm second class can stuff it.
